Veterinary Nurse

At Medivet Alfreton, you’ll be part of a large, supportive team of 15 vets, an amazing head nurse, 15 nurses, and 5 receptionists, all working together to provide the best care possible. Many of our vets hold or are working towards certificates in dermatology, dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, emergency & critical care, and ophthalmology. The practice is well-equipped with six consult rooms, separate dog and cat wards, three sterile theatres, dedicated diagnostic suites, dental facilities, digital x-ray, two staff rooms, and more. Our hospital is committed to maintaining high standards and providing excellent care to both clients and patients. We are offering a permanent full time contract with the option of a 4 or 5 day week including 1 in 8 full weekends. You will also be required to work Bank Holidays and to join our on-call rota. In this role you will: Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities. Deliver patient monitoring and care. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. Dispense and check medication. Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice. Your Skills and Experience: RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team. Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
