Veterinary Receptionist
Receptionist – Full-Time (Fixed-Term, 6-Month Contract)

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Mill House Veterinary Surgery, offering:
- 24-hour hospitalisation
- Advanced emergency care from a single site
- Cutting-edge facilities: CT scans, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and multi-parameter monitors for general anaesthesia
- Support for students and new graduates with mentorship and training opportunities
- RCVS Practice Standards Scheme awards (6 distinctions)
- Cat-friendly practice with separate wards and waiting areas
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience. You’ll play a key role in:
- Supporting smooth practice operations by managing appointments, enquiries, and communications
- Collaborating with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues
- Enhancing client and patient journeys with efficiency and care
Working Pattern
- Full-time role (40 hours per week)
- Fixed-term contract (6 months)

Key Responsibilities
- Answering the telephone promptly and professionally
- Dealing with or redirecting enquiries efficiently
- Booking and managing appointments
- Registering new clients and maintaining records
- Accurately inputting information into the IT system
- Handling cash and processing credit/debit card and cheque payments
- Maintaining reception and waiting room cleanliness and organisation
