We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at McMurtry & Harding on a part-time basis (FTC- 6 months).

We have practices in Ashbourne and Wirksworth offering a wide range of morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday appointments. All practices have a fully equipped operating theatre, separate vet and nurse consultation rooms, in-house laboratories and comfortable cat and dog wards to make clients pet’s stay with us as stress free as possible.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

  • 31 hours per week Monday to Friday

  • Perform administrative and reception duties.
  • Booking, cancelling and changing appointments.
  • Receiving cash/card payments.
  • Handle insurance claims and instalment queries.
  • Deal with cash exchanges and end of day banking procedures.
  • Attend reception team meetings as and when requested.
  • Dispense medications/prescriptions.
  • Keep client/patient records up to date.
  • Check clinic emails and process appropriately.
