Veterinary Receptionist

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Receptionist to join our team at Vets4Pets Newcastle Kingston Park.

Unlike many veterinary practices, we are individually locally owned and managed by our Practice Owners. We are a 100% small animal practice with a fantastic client base and a team that takes genuine pride in the care and service we provide.

We are looking for the right person rather than the perfect CV. If you are friendly, organised, and genuinely motivated to make a difference for pets and their owners, we will provide full training to our standards.

The position

20 hours per week on a 4-week rolling rota, including a mixture of morning and evening shifts and 1 in 4 weekends.

What We Are Looking For

A warm, confident manner with clients, both in person and on the phone. The ability to stay calm and multi-task in a busy environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Relevant customer-facing experience — veterinary or reception experience is welcome but not essential. Comfortable with computers and basic administration.

Reasons to use Rodeo

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

It searches the market for you

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You Will Be Doing

Greeting clients and welcoming them to the practice. Answering phones and managing emails and digital messages. Completing administration tasks including inpatient paperwork, insurance claim forms, and daily cashing up. Provide clear communication between clients and the veterinary team. Booking appointments, processing prescription orders, and maintaining accurate client and patient records on our practice management system. Keeping the reception area tidy and welcoming. Guiding clients through our health plan options — full training provided.

What We Offer

Funded CPD and in-house career development opportunities 20% discount at Vets4Pets, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room Access to a wide range of discounts and cashbacks Pension scheme and competitive holiday allowance A supportive, close-knit team in a practice that genuinely cares about the people who work here
