Veterinary Receptionist Opportunity in Consett
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our brand-new practice in Consett.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly, hardworking team from the very beginning and play an important role in helping us build a practice that delivers exceptional care to both patients and clients.
About the Practice
We are a new-build veterinary practice with a fresh brand, modern facilities, and ambitious plans from day one. Our team is professional, supportive, and approachable, with an easy-going nature while maintaining a high standard of patient and client care.
The practice will be led by two highly experienced veterinarians with special interests in surgery and imaging. We are passionate about providing a high level of care and will be offering a varied caseload, including exotic patients, with the aim of managing as much as possible in-house.
Our facilities include:
- Digital X-ray and ultrasound
- In-house biochemistry and haematology
- Full urinalysis capabilities
- In-house cytology
- Advanced dental equipment
- Orthopaedic surgical equipment
We will be undertaking a wide range of procedures, including complex soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, joint procedures, fracture repairs, and comprehensive medical workups.

The Role
As an experienced Veterinary Receptionist, you will be a key part of the client care team, helping to create a welcoming and professional experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships
- Managing appointments, enquiries, and client communications
- Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Handling payments and maintaining accurate client records
- Ensuring the smooth running of reception and front-of-house services
- Working collaboratively with the wider practice team
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working within a veterinary reception or client care role
- Is confident, organised, and able to manage a busy workload
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is compassionate and understands the importance of providing outstanding care
- Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and contributing to the growth of a new practice

Our practice is based in Consett, a welcoming town surrounded by beautiful countryside and scenic routes. The area offers a fantastic balance of convenience and outdoor living, with attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle, and the Lake District all within easy reach.
