Join a Supportive, Locally Run Practice in Newbury

About Us:
We’re a modern, purpose-built, locally owned and managed small animal practice. This means decisions are made by people who work on-site and understand what it’s like to be in your shoes. We’ve built a team where everyone feels supported, respected and part of something meaningful.
You’ll be joining an experienced team of:
- 6 Vets (including 3 Practice Partners)
- 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses (including a Nursing Manager)
- 3 Student Nurses
- 3 Receptionists (including a Reception Manager)
- 1 Practice Manager
It’s a well-balanced team where everyone plays a valuable role and contributes to a positive working environment.
What Your Typical Day Will Look Like:
Your role is to deliver outstanding service to our clients while supporting the best possible care for their pets - helping to ensure clear communication and coordination between pet owners and our clinical team.
- Greeting clients with a warm and friendly welcome, both in person and over the phone.
- Answering phones and managing our digital services including emails and WhatsApp.
- Administration tasks including scanning paperwork for hospitalised inpatients, insurance claim forms, registering microchips and daily cashing up reports.
- Booking appointments, placing prescription orders, taking payments and recording all client and patient information accurately on to our in-house system.
- Keeping the reception area tidy, organised and welcoming for clients and patients, including keeping the notice boards up-to-date.
- Discussing our bespoke Complete Care Plan package offers to clients in order to deliver the best care for our patients.
- Coordinating the smooth running of the day-to-day routines of the practice will be done using our online booking system, so computer literacy and strong administrative skills are a must.
- You’ll need to thrive as part of a team, showing initiative and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

We are happy to consider full- and part-time applications. Full-time would be working 40 hours per week. This role includes full participation in the weekend rota (currently 1 in 4).

- Salary: £22,568 - £26,436.80 per annum, depending on your skills and experience.
