Veterinary Receptionist

Receptionist (Part-Time) – Haydon Veterinary Centre

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we’re trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose: healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Haydon Veterinary Centre on a part-time basis. Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, and the occasional chicken, offering plenty of variety throughout the day. This role provides a well-balanced mix of administration and support in a progressive environment, with encouragement to explore areas of interest.

Our nursing team is incredibly supportive and hands-on, assisting across all areas of the practice so you can focus on delivering excellent care. We also operate our own emergency ambulance for house visits and provide a nurse-led community visiting service to actively support the local area.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments
  • Handling inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
  • Collaborating with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a seamless experience for clients and their pets
  • Contributing to a positive client and patient journey

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
