We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Emscote Vets on a part-time basis.
Our practice is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and a committed team of professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact difference in the lives of animals and their owners. We are equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory, ensuring that our team has the resources to provide exceptional care.
Located in the heart of Warwick, a town steeped in history and heritage, you’ll find yourself surrounded by charm and beauty. Warwick is home to the stunning Warwick Castle, as well as numerous parks and gardens where you can enjoy leisurely walks along the River Avon. The town offers a vibrant selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops, making it a wonderful place to live and work. Additionally, Warwick boasts excellent transport links, connecting you easily to the surrounding region and beyond.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.
You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

The ideal candidate would need to be dedicated, friendly, energetic, and resilient. You will need to have excellent telephone and face to face communication skills plus empathy with our pet owning clients. Previous customer care experience and computer literacy are essential. Receptionists are extremely important members of our team, as they are on the front line and are the first point of contact with our clients. We are proud of our local reputation, and you would be pivotal for maintaining our exceptional level of customer care.
Working Pattern
- 20 hours per week including 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting clients and pets
- Booking appointments using our Practice Management System
- Answering phones
- Registering new clients
- Dealing with payments/daily banking
- Guiding clients to the appropriate service depending on their needs
- Responding to and keeping on top of practice emails and website enquiries
- Maintaining the reception waiting area to a clean and professional standard
- Supporting the team in their daily duties
