Veterinary Receptionist
Receptionist – Mill House Veterinary Surgery (Fixed-Term, 6 Months Full-Time)

The Practice
Mill House Veterinary Surgery offers clients 24-hour hospitalisation and advanced emergency care from a single site—no remote answering. Features include:
- Modernequipment (CT scans, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopic suites, multi-parameter monitors)
- Nurseswith dedicated consulting rooms
- 6 RCVS Practice Standards Scheme awards (one of few practices in the UK)
- Separate cat-friendly wards and waiting areas
Training, mentorship, and career development are central to the team’s ethos.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients, crucial in shaping a welcoming, professional, and compassionate vet experience.
Your role includes:
- Supporting appointment scheduling, client queries, and seamless communications
- Collaborating with clinical and non-clinical team members to enhance the patient and client journey

Working Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and redirect telephone calls promptly and efficiently
- Book, manage, and reorganise appointments as needed
- Registration of new clients
- Accurate data entry into the IT system
- Handling cash transactions and processing payments (credit/debit cards, cheques)
- Maintaining reception and waiting areas
