Our Client is a modern, purpose-built small animal practice in Lincoln that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its growing permanent team.

This is a strong opportunity for a Vet who wants to manage a varied GP caseload, develop a particular clinical interest and work alongside a highly capable nursing and support team.

The Package

  • Salary from £60,000, increasing with experience

Working Hours / Rota

This is a permanent, full-time position working 39 hours across four days per week, together with a 1:4 weekend rota. The working pattern is designed to provide a sustainable balance while allowing clinicians to remain fully involved in the development and continuity of their cases.

Role Description

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied small animal GP caseload, including preventative healthcare, consultations, medical investigations, routine surgery and the treatment of sick and injured patients.

The practice supports thorough diagnostic workups and continuity of care, with an engaged client base and more than 40% of clients enrolled on a preventative healthcare plan. Clinicians with a particular area of interest are especially encouraged to apply. Additional support is available across surgery, ophthalmology, imaging, internal medicine and cardiology, providing the opportunity to develop your preferred discipline and help shape the services offered as the team continues to grow.

Team Size

The permanent veterinary team currently includes an experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon, with additional support available from clinicians in surgery, ophthalmology, imaging, internal medicine and cardiology.

The nursing team is led by an experienced Head Nurse and includes four RVNs, with recruitment underway for a Deputy Head Nurse. The nurses are confident across complex procedures, radiography, dentistry, Schedule 3 duties and nurse-led clinics.

The wider team also includes four Customer Experience Coordinators and two weekend Animal Care Assistants.

The surgery is modern, spacious and purpose-built, with its layout designed around efficient clinical workflows, high-quality patient care and a positive client experience.

The wider veterinary group continues to invest in facilities, clinical technology and colleague development, with opportunities to pursue certificates, develop advanced interests and collaborate with experienced clinicians across a range of disciplines.

Ideal Candidate

The practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years of small animal GP experience. You should be confident managing both medical and surgical cases, communicating treatment options clearly with clients and working collaboratively with the wider clinical and non-clinical team.

Candidates with a particular clinical interest are especially encouraged to apply, with opportunities to help develop services within the practice. A strong commitment to high-quality patient care, preventative healthcare and pet wellbeing is essential.
