Veterinary Surgeon – 25-30 hours p/w – Somerset

We’re offering minimum hours with maximum gain in this unmissable role in beautiful North Somerset! A sociable team, flexible hours and salary up to £65,000 fte, read on to find out more.

The Practice

Locally owned and having just celebrated our 10th birthday, we’re very fortunate to be based on the mezzanine of a thriving Pets at Home store with lots of light, space and a great outlook. The practice is purpose built to industry leading standards and has all the equipment you’d expect from a successful GP practice, as well as offering a spacious prep area, theatre, 3 consult rooms, separate cattery, kennels and isolation ward and a kitchen and office space for our brilliant team too.

Our Team

We’re a sociable team with great experience too! Our head vet has an interest in surgery including BOAS procedures and also has an interest in reproductive health. We always look to promote and utilise our nurses as much as possible, including schedule 3 procedures and we also work closely with a mobile ultra-sonographer and orthopaedic surgery team, meaning we see a lot of interesting cases in-house too.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
