This full-time, on-site Veterinary Surgeon role is based in Sydenham and involves providing high-quality medical and surgical care to small animals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions
- Performing routine and complex surgeries
- Managing preventative healthcare for pets
- Interpreting laboratory results
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Collaborating with veterinary nurses and support colleagues to ensure excellent patient care and client communication
The Veterinary Surgeon will contribute to practice development through clinical leadership, participation in case discussions, and support for colleagues’ learning. This position offers opportunities to help shape the clinical standards of the practice and to participate in the wider Vets for Pets clinical community.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Veterinary Surgery and Veterinary Medicine for the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of small animal cases.
- Candidates should possess solid skills in Medicine and Laboratory Skills, including clinical pathology interpretation and use of diagnostic equipment.
- Candidates should possess a sound understanding of Pet Care, including preventive health, nutrition, and client education.
- A recognised veterinary degree (e.g., MRCVS-eligible) and current registration or eligibility to register with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, and make evidence-based clinical decisions.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, adherence to clinical governance, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
- Experience in small animal practice is beneficial; new graduates with strong clinical foundations and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
