Experienced Small Animal General Practitioner Colchester, North Essex

Vets for Vets Colchester Group is looking for an experienced, passionate General Practitioner who enjoys traditional general practice and wants to take their career to the next level by working in a truly integrated first-opinion and referral environment.

About The Role

You will spend approximately 75% of your time in our busy, well-equipped first-opinion practice and 25% working at our nearby Referral & ECC Hospital in Colchester, Essex. This unique setup gives you seamless access to advanced diagnostics, surgery, and 24/7 inpatient care, allowing you to deliver a higher standard of medicine for your patients while continuing to enjoy the rewards of being a true generalist.

This role is ideal for a vet who wants to focus on being a clinician, rather than for example carrying the heavy non-clinical and management responsibilities often associated with a Clinical Director position.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
