About us:

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our friendly and vibrant team at Warrington Riverside Vets for Pets. We're open to candidates at all stages of their career. Whether you're looking for your first opportunity or your next challenge, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

Warrington is based in the Northwest of England, in between the cities of Manchester and Liverpool, just a 30-minute drive from either, along the M62. This is ideal for those who love city exploring on their days off, but also the beaches of Formby, Crosby and North Wales are all under an hour away if you prefer outdoor exploring. Both cities also have international airports which is perfect for weekend get aways or longer breaks during annual leave. The practice itself is located with the Pets at Home store on Junction 9 retail park, to the North of Warrington and under 30 minutes’ walk from the local train station.

Our team is currently made up of 4 full time vets, 8 RVN's, 3 VCA's and 5 CCA’s and an administrator, all of whom are led by our amazing partners Alex and Sam who became JVP’s over 10 years ago. As a team we are keen on colleague development, with regular EMS placements for vet students, internal mentoring for new grads, and we are recognised as an RVN and VCA teaching practice.

About the role:

We are looking for an vet to join our team of like minded vets, we can support you through the next steps in your career and support you while you pursue your special interests. We can support full or part time hours between 20 – 40. With hours open for discussion including your lunch break! We really can adapt the hours for you, however there would be a requirement for some weekend shifts including both Saturdays and Sundays.

The surgery is brightly lit with top quality equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, multi-parameters, automatic BP machine, bi-polar diathermy plus all the usual surgical kit. Our partner Alex is an OV and has a keen interest in surgery with a lot of experience, one of our vets is a surgery certificate holder and one of our nurses is a veterinary behaviourist meaning we accept behavioural referrals inhouse.

In practice we run 15-minute consults, with diary space for emergencies or on the day bookings, alongside additional time for any admin. Our strong nursing team also conduct appointments where they can for 2nd vaccinations, post op checks and schedule 3, to help our vet team. This collaborative working as a clinical team has resulted in us being proud owners of RCVS accreditation along with ISFM and RAWF silver awards.
