Veterinary Surgeon
Willett House Veterinary Surgeons | Staines & Surrounding Branch Practices
Full-Time | 4-Day Week | Salary £55,000+ DOE
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Willett House Veterinary Surgeons in Staines and our surrounding branch practices. With over 135 years of experience caring for pets and supporting their owners, we're proud of the experienced team we've built, the values that guide us and the supportive culture we've created across our family of 8 practices. You'll be joining a practice where colleagues are trusted, respected and encouraged to learn, develop and thrive as part of a collaborative team.
As part of Kin Vet Community, a small collective of like-minded community veterinary practices, we benefit from the support, shared expertise and collaborative approach that comes from working alongside teams who share our commitment to exceptional veterinary care.
Whilst every practice retains its own culture, leadership and way of working, being part of Kin Vet creates greater opportunities to learn from one another, invest in our people and facilities, and continue evolving the services we provide to pets and their owners.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our supportive and experienced clinical team, working across Willett House Staines Veterinary Hospital and our surrounding branch practices.
You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds: the variety and continuity of first-opinion practice, alongside the advanced facilities and clinical support of a hospital environment.
The role is split approximately:
- 2 days at Staines Veterinary Hospital
- 2 days across our branch practices
You’ll manage a varied small animal caseload, including consultations, surgery, diagnostics and inpatient care, with excellent support from experienced clinicians and certificate holders across multiple disciplines.
This is a clinical role with no management responsibilities, ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to continue developing their skills, work with clinical autonomy and have access to exceptional equipment and support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
