The Role
We are hiring a Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Lead for our Filton and Patchway practices, with the role primarily based at Filton and 1–2 days per week at Patchway.
As a branch lead, you’ll:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth practice management
- Update practice protocols and implement new processes
- Run branch meetings and support your local team
Practice Details
- Filton is a one-vet practice with surgery and consultations, offering a typical mix of both.
- Patchway is a consultation-only one-vet practice.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-standard care across a varied caseload. Your role includes:
- Clinical leadership and mentorship in a supportive environment
- Developing your clinical skills and knowledge while contributing to practice culture
- Providing excellent patient and client care through exceptional consultative and surgical abilities

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Managing day-to-day operations and guiding team performance
- Clinical care: Handling a diverse first-opinion caseload, including routine surgery and consultations
- Process improvement: Updating practice protocols and refining service delivery
Hours & Benefits
Working Hours
- 37.9 hrs per week with a set day off
- Hours: 8:30AM – 6:30PM, Monday–Thursday, with weekend availability (3 in 11 roster)

Who We’re Looking For (Key Requirements)
You might be a great fit if you’re a confident, motivated veterinary surgeon who:
- Thrives in a team environment and prioritises high-quality patient and client care
- Has:
- A veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility)
- Experience in clinical practice, including growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
- Proactive, growth-minded approach open to feedback
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Passion for exceptional care and continuing professional development
