# Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Lead – Filton & Patchway Practices
About the Role

We’re recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Lead for our Filton and Patchway practices. The role is primarily based in Filton, with 1–2 days per week at Patchway.
A branch lead responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day operations of both branches.
- Ensuring smooth practice functioning and client care.
- Updating practice protocols and running branch meetings.
- Supporting and developing the local team of 1 RVN and reception staff.
Practice Overview
- Filton: A single-vet practice handling a mix of surgery and consulting.
- Patchway: A single-vet practice specialising in consulting only.
Practice Highlights
- Support from a longstanding RVN and reception team.
- Excellent facilities with full access to Zetland’s centralised support and networks across practices.
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional patient and client care. This hands-on role offers diverse casework and opportunities to lead, develop, and grow while supporting others in delivering outstanding standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day management of Filton and Patchway branches (ideal for a future leadership role).
- Provide high-quality veterinary care, handling routine surgeries and first-opinion consulting.
- Continuously review and update practice protocols to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Lead team meetings and foster a positive, supportive work environment.

Working Hours
- 37.5-hour weekly contract (7 hours/day)
- Monday–Friday, 8:30am–6:30pm (a 4-day week)
- Cover weekends: 3 shifts per 11 foremptyset weekend coverage
Qualifications & Experience
You’ll thrive in this role as a confident veterinary surgeon with a commitment to teamwork and client-centred care.
Requirements
- A veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register).
- Experience in clinical practice, with growing confidence in handling routine medical and surgical cases.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong client and colleague relationships.
- Proactive approach to career development and openness to feedback.
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Passion for providing outstanding patient and client care.
