Company Description

Coxheath Vets (Kent) is a well-established independent vets based in Maidstone.

We offer a supportive, collaborative working environment where cases are discussed openly, teamwork is valued, and excellent patient care is our shared priority. We are an experienced team, including a medicine certificate holder and an ultrasonographer.

Our busy practice benefits from a varied caseload, committed clients and excellent facilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound, dental radiography, a spacious prep area, dedicated surgical theatre, separate dog and cat wards, and comfortable office and staff facilities.

Role Description

We are looking for a vet with at least 3 years’ experience who is clinically confident, approachable, and enjoys building strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.

This is a full-time, Veterinary Surgeon role based in Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom. The position will consist of approx. 36hrs per week over 4 days with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. Our weekday opening hours are between 8am - 7pm with no on-call. Responsibilities to include consulting and surgery.

  • Strong skills in Veterinary Surgery, including routine and soft tissue procedures.
  • Confidence in consultation, to be pragmatic or thorough in the workup of cases and treatment planning.
  • Recognized veterinary degree and eligibility for registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Clear, empathetic communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a clinical team, manage time well, and adapt to the needs of a busy practice.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Previous experience in small animal practice is advantageous, though newly qualified veterinary surgeons with strong clinical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
