Veterinary Surgeon – Full-Time (40 hours/4 days)

Step into a role where clinical freedom, cutting-edge facilities, and genuine team support come together seamlessly. At Medivet Ashton 24 Hour, we’re offering an opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to thrive in a progressive, well-equipped environment—without the burden of out-of-hours work.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours across four days, usually 9am–7pm, ensuring a consistent structure and genuine work-life balance. You’ll participate in 1 in 6 weekends and a fair share of bank holidays, supported by a dedicated night team to ensure seamless patient care outside of your working hours. Part-time applications are also welcome.

You’ll be joining a thriving 5-vet team, including a Partner and a surgical certificate holder. While you’ll benefit from their experience and collaboration, this role offers sole charge opportunities, making it ideal for a confident, experienced all-rounder who enjoys autonomy and ownership of their cases.

Our Ashton 24 Hour practice is designed to maximise your clinical success. Key facilities include:

  • Four consult rooms
  • Two theatres
  • Dedicated dog and cat wards
  • Fully equipped in-house lab
  • Digital and dental X-ray
  • Modern ultrasound
  • Laparoscopic equipment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
