About Us
We are a small, locally owned practice that has proudly served the Caerphilly community for over 11 years. Our practice is owned and led by Maciej, PhD, MRCVS, GPAdvCert (SAOS), who has a strong passion for advanced small animal surgery, with particular interests in orthopaedics, stem cell therapy, arthroscopy and endoscopy.
As an independently owned practice within the Vets for Pets network, we pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of patient care while fostering a friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.
Our Location
Our surgery is situated in the heart of Caerphilly town centre in South Wales, just a two-minute walk from the iconic Caerphilly Castle. Excellent rail and bus connections make commuting easy from all directions, and we're less than 10 miles from Cardiff, the Welsh capital. Whether you enjoy vibrant city life, exploring the dramatic Welsh coastline or escaping to the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, you'll find all are within easy reach.
Our Team
You'll be joining a welcoming and experienced team consisting of:
- 3 Veterinary Surgeons
- 4 Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses
- 1 Student Veterinary Nurse
- Dedicated Reception Team
- Practice Manager
We work collaboratively and enjoy supporting one another, creating an environment where everyone can continue to learn and develop.

Our modern surgery has been designed to provide an excellent working environment and includes:
- Four spacious consulting rooms
- Dedicated prep area
- Fully equipped operating theatre
- Separate Cat World and Dog World wards
We continue to invest in both our team and our facilities. Alongside our excellent diagnostic equipment, we are planning further investment in:
- Dental detector
- Portable digital X-ray machine
- HD3 Smart ultrasonography
- Laparoscopic equipment
Our current equipment includes:
- Digital radiography
- Dental X-ray
- Endoscope
- Arthroscope
- Doppler ultrasound

- Laboratory

- Stem cell / PRP equipment
The Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with some flexibility.
Practice opening hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6:00pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays (9:00am – 1:00pm)
- No out-of-hours
Our caseload is varied and rewarding. Alongside routine consultations, preventative healthcare and standard surgical procedures, we perform a wide range of advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, including both trauma and non-trauma cases. Working alongside our practice owner offers a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to advanced procedures including TPLO, arthroscopy, endoscopy and regenerative medicine, with mentoring available for vets keen to expand their surgical skills.
About You
We're looking for a friendly, motivated Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys delivering excellent patient care and building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a UK small animal practice or hospital
- Confidence with both consultations and routine surgery
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work independently when required while also thriving within a supportive team
- A genuine commitment to continuing professional development
