Bolton Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a keen interest in imaging.
As a Veterinary Surgeon with an imaging bias, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating complex cases using advanced imaging. Your primary focus will be on ultrasound, digital radiography, and CT, but you will also participate in the general surgical and medical first opinion caseload.
The ideal candidate should be confident in performing abdominal ultrasounds and interpreting radiographs. Holding a certificate in diagnostic imaging or working towards further qualifications is desirable but not essential.
Our 24/7 hospital provides a varied and exciting caseload, working with a team of highly skilled vets and nurses. We offer affordable first-opinion services while also performing referral surgeries, supported by our A&E department. This caseload offers the right candidate a balanced work environment that will fuel your passion for diagnostics while maintaining your connection to first-opinion care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
