Veterinary Surgeon – Full or Part Time
About the Role
Ipswich Martlesham Vets4Pets We have an unmissable opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our warm and friendly team, who were voted Pet Plan practice of the year 2021.

Working Hours
We can consider full or part time hours for the role including 1 in 3 Saturdays (with 2 weekdays off when you work Saturday). Full time hours would work a 4-day week and if looking for part time – hours and days to be discussed. We understand the importance of a work life balance and so there are no out of hours. We can also offer flexibility to do more weekends and less weekdays.
About You
You’ll be a dynamic and proactive Veterinary Surgeon with solid surgical and medical skills. You should be a strong team player, who is keen to be involved and work alongside us. The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care and enjoy the variety the role will bring.

You’ll be joining our clinical team of 5 vets (2 are practice partners), 5 RVNs, 1 student nurse, 1 VCA and non-clinical staff. Ideally you’ll have at least 2-3 years’ experience. We can offer you a great team environment where everyone is always on hand to support each other. We regularly talk through our cases, learn new things from one another and have friendly debates.
Our Facilities
Our well-equipped surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and you’ll get use of our facilities including digital x-rays, ultrasound, endoscope, in-house lab, operating theatre, separate cat and dog wards and exotics ward. Procedures offered include usual routine surgeries, ex-laps and associated surgeries like splenectomies, gastrotomies, enterectomies etc. BOAS, TTA, TECA. A large percentage of our clients are insured.
We pride ourselves on in-house diagnostic work ups; we have a visiting internal medicine specialist to help out too and we do many skilled orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries that we would love to teach others how to do.

We’re based inside a busy Pets at Home store on Beardmore Retail Park in Martlesham. We have food and clothes shops nearby and are 15 minutes from the local towns of Ipswich and Woodbridge. Our great location means we benefit from a good variety of cases and a loyal client base.
