Our Colne vets for pets is under new ownership and they are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join them!

You will be joining the practice after expansion, with 4 consult rooms, a dental and imaging suite, a separate induction area, prep room and lab room, a large colleague space, and a quiet waiting area. This is to support our colleagues, clients, and patients with our aim to become a Fear-free practice, having already achieved Dogs Trust Dog Friendly status. We are also PSS accredited, Cat friendly Silver, and a Rabbit friendly listed practice.

The practice is in a great location as it is a commutable distance from North Manchester but is also at the base of the Pennines giving you access to the best of both worlds.

You will be an experienced vet who is confident in routine surgery looking for your next steps in your career, or an existing certificate holder/working towards a certificate. Laoise, Ally, Dani, Vicky, and the team are happy to support this, providing support with CPD and Certificates.

This role is looking to pay up to £70,000 (FTE, DOE). A relocation package can be discussed (Subject to T&Cs).

You will join a supportive team that enjoys socializing outside of work. Ideally this is full-time, but part-time can be considered too. Rota 1:4 Saturdays, no Sundays or OOHs. Generous CPD allowance. Have your birthday off!

We are on the edge of town, with the M65 and train station only ¼ of a mile from the practice. Colne is a rural-based town with access to Manchester for city life, or outdoor activities such as climbing Pendle Hill, walks in the Dales, and visiting The Lakes on your days off.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we can offer you:

  • Laoise, Ally, Dani, and Vicky, our new practice owners, are supported by a great crew of 4 Vets, 5 RVN's, 3 VCA's, and a reception team of 5. All our colleagues are dedicated and can offer you fantastic support to achieve your career goals. This is a great opportunity for any vet to join and allow you to shape your own career and influence the care we provide.
  • We are passionate about allowing all our veterinary surgeons to work up their own cases and explore all possibilities to support our clients and provide the best care possible to our patients. So if you are someone who loves to go that step further, this role could be perfect for you.
  • We have a good variety of clients and cases, with referrals being available, but so we can offer continuity in care, we try to work up all the cases in-house that we can. Equipment includes doppler ultrasound, operating theatre, electrosurgery unit, tonometry, dental x-ray, and a growing orthopedic kit. We also have InVue and Sedivue to complete our lab work.

We are looking for a full-time experienced vet, but we can also consider flexible hours for the right candidate. Rota 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am-5:30pm), no Sunday working or OOHs after 7pm. We have 20-minute sick pet consults and also catch up and admin time of over 1 hour rostered into the day.
