Welcome to Shenfield!
This impressive first opinion practice in the heart of popular Brentwood in Essex is looking for an additional vet to join their already experienced clinical team, on a part-time basis. This 3 day week role also provides some variety, with one day per week working in our incredibly popular Gidea Park practice.
About your new role!
Shenfield and Gidea Park are very popular sites, and therefore they have a great caseload for surgical and medical cases. Due to the nature of the caseload we are looking for a vet who is confident in all routine GP surgery.
As well as everything you would expect in a busy first opinion practice, Shenfield also has ultrasound and K-Laser facilities.
You will be surrounded by a highly experienced team with multiple RVN’s and support colleagues, and a part-time senior vet at Shenfield. You will also be supported by a dedicated regional manager whose support is invaluable to her branches in the region, and a regional head vet for any clinical queries you may have, as John has a wealth of knowledge to pass on!
To join our existing teams, we are looking for an additional vet in Shenfield on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Wednesdays in Gidea Park, giving you every Monday and Thursday off. The role includes a 1:4 Saturday rotation at Gidea Park, and a 1:8 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation plus 1-2 bank holidays per year and being included in the last resort on-call rotation. If you were looking for full-time hours, we would be happy to explore options. As part of your initial induction period, you will be given the opportunity to spend a day in the hospital to meet the team and get au-fait with your surroundings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
