About the Practice

Pontypridd Vets for Pets is a dynamic, first-opinion small animal practice with a stable, supportive team. Our mission is to create an environment where veterinary professionals enjoy their work and thrive—delivering outstanding care to our clients and community.

Under the leadership of Owner Andreea Ionescubio, we prioritise team welfare. Having founded the practice in 2016, Andreea later completed a Veterinary Leadership and Management Diploma, focusing on team development, mental health, and fostering a culture of pride and mutual support.

  • Standard 15-minute consultant slots
  • Collaborative environment with a core team of 2-3 nurses, VCA, and receptionist supporting you daily
  • Flexible scheduling: Currently enjoys 2 days per week (Wed/Thu, 9am–7pm) with no on-call or weekend duties. Potential to expand if desired.

Bonus: We operate alongside a sister practice in Llantrisant, offering additional support or cross-site opportunities.


About You

We’re seeking a hands-on, passionate vet who:

  • Operates with GP and sole charge experience, with confidence and competence
  • Thrives as a team player, skilled in clear and compassionate communication
  • Shares our commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care in a supportive setting

Salary and Benefits

Competitive FTE salary up to £66,000 (commensurate with experience), including:

  • 5.6 weeks FTE annual leave (incl. bank holidays) – increasing to 6.6 weeks after 2 years’ service
  • Life assurance equivalent to 4x annual salary
