Veterinary Surgeon – Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Up to £60,000 (Dependent on experience) | 40 Hours | No OOH | Certificate Support Encouraged

We’re excited to be recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established, friendly team at Sutton-in-Ashfield Vets4Pets. We are a thriving, forward-thinking practice with a strong clinical focus and a fantastic team culture.

Conveniently located close to Junction 28 of the M1 with excellent public transport links, our practice offers easy commuting while being close to the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside.

Why Join Our Team?

You’ll be working alongside passionate and experienced practice owners:

  • Stephanie Cochrane, who graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2011 and holds a certificate in Exotic Animal Practice.
  • Faye Padley, a Registered Veterinary Nurse who qualified in 2016 and became Joint Practice Owner in 2019 after progressing through Vets4Pets. Together, they’ve built a collaborative, supportive, and progressive practice since opening in 2014.

You’ll join:

  • 4 Vets
  • 7 RVNs
  • 4 Client Care Advisors
  • A dedicated Practice Manager

We’re also a proud teaching practice, regularly supporting SVNs and vet students, so if you enjoy mentoring or working in a learning-focused environment, you’ll feel right at home.

Facilities & Clinical Support

We’re equipped to help you deliver excellent care with confidence:

  • Full in-house laboratory suite
  • Digital radiography and advanced ultrasound machine with cardiac probe
  • ECG
  • Tonopen
  • Separate Dog, Cat and Exotic wards

You’ll have exposure to a varied caseload and access to strong clinical support for non-routine procedures. Sole charge is minimal, but we’re looking for someone confident with routine surgeries and consultations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
