Job title: Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Location: Rutland Veterinary Centre, Market Harborough, Leicestershire

Job Type: Permanent. Full-time (open to part-time applications)

Hours: 40 hours over 4 days. There is no on call; however, participation in the shared weekend and bank holiday day rota is part of this role.

We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced team. Whether your passion lies in consulting, medicine, surgery, imaging or delivering excellent all-round first opinion care, we offer the flexibility to shape the role around your strengths and career aspirations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, thrive in a collaborative environment, and enjoy working alongside a dedicated and experienced clinical team.

The Team

Rutland Veterinary Centre is a supportive, community-focused first opinion practice based in Uppingham, Leicestershire. We have a diverse and rewarding caseload, and our facilities are fully equipped to support the high standard of care we provide.

As an active part of the local community, we regularly attend events such as The Rutland Show and Rutland Pet Festival. We are also passionate about supporting local charities, including Cats Protection, Prickleback Urchin Hedgehog Rescue, Neville's Nest Guinea Pig Rescue, and Leicester Animal Rescue.

What We're Looking For

  • A team player with a minimum of two years' experience in small animal practice and RCVS registered (or eligible to register).
  • A Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys delivering high-quality first opinion care and is keen to continue developing their clinical interests.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed decisions across consultations, diagnostics and case management.
  • The ability to confidently deliver high-quality clinical care across consultations, medical investigations and routine surgical procedures.
  • A collaborative, approachable attitude that contributes to a positive team culture and exceptional client care.
