Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Kingsway Vet Group has an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team on a permanent basis. This role is based at our busy Skipton Veterinary Hospital alongside our fantastic team of certificate holders across a range of disciplines. The role will involve consultations, surgery, hospital and inpatient shifts, and emergency and out-of-hours care alongside the usual first opinion duties. If you have a particular clinical interest, we'll always try to tailor your days around what you enjoy most.

We are an expanding Veterinary Hospital that has been providing exceptional veterinary care for over 80 years, successfully combining a traditional ethos of care with progressive modern medicine. Kingsway is proud to be a referral centre for orthopaedics, cardiology, soft tissue surgery and ultrasound.
Our hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, ECG, digital radiography, dental radiography, rigid and flexible endoscopy, state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, and 24-hour on-site nursing care. We actively encourage CPD and further qualifications, creating an environment where you can continue to develop your skills and clinical interests.
Our nurses provide dedicated inpatient care around the clock as we're proud to offer our own out-of-hours service. Based in the beautiful market town of Skipton, consistently voted one of the happiest places to live in the UK, you'll enjoy excellent cafés, restaurants, schools and community groups, all surrounded by the stunning Yorkshire Dales with fantastic walking, cycling and climbing opportunities. How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
- You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice.
- You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, depending on shift patterns
- 1 week in 5 on the out-of-hours on-call rota between 5:00pm and 8:30am
- When on evening on-call, you are not required to work the daytime shift
- 1 weekend in 5 on the out-of-hours on-call rota
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You Are a Confident And Motivated Veterinary Surgeon Who Enjoys Working As Part Of a Team And Is Committed To Delivering High-quality Patient And Client Care. You’ll Bring
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care

Salary
£0 - £65,000 a year
Up to £65,000 pa DOE
