Join a Supportive Practice by the Coast

We're looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly first-opinion practice in the picturesque coastal town of Gourock.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident GP vet with at least five years' experience who enjoys all aspects of first-opinion practice. You'll be comfortable with routine consultations, surgery and dentistry, with occasional sole charge to cover holidays. Your time will be well balanced between consulting and procedures, giving you the opportunity to build strong client relationships while enjoying a varied clinical caseload.

We pride ourselves on working cases up thoroughly and providing excellent continuity of care, with a loyal client base and plenty of opportunity to investigate more complex cases. Whether your interests lie in medicine, surgery or another area of general practice, you'll be supported to continue developing your skills and clinical interests.

Working Pattern & Flexibility

This is a full-time position working 39 hours over a four-day week (8:30am–6:30pm), with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm). There are no out-of-hours commitments, with Vets Now Glasgow providing emergency and out-of-hours cover.

We're also happy to consider part-time or flexible working for the right candidate, as we recognise the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
