Hillman Vets, part of the inspiring vet care network, is recruiting!

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Here at Hillman Vets, it's been an exciting period of growth following the acquisition of Lydon & Scott Vets into our family. As a result of this growth, we're looking for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at the Lydon branch. The role offers a well-balanced caseload of both surgery and medicine. The position will be based primarily at the Lydon site, although there will occasionally be a requirement to provide cover at our Scott (Great Barr) branch.

The Rota

Ideally, we're looking for a candidate to work full time, covering 40 hours per week over 4 days. There's also 1:5 Saturday mornings (09:00 - 12:30). No out of hours or on call required.

About Us

Our practice is fully equipped with the modern facilities you'd expect, including digital X-ray (including SignalPET AI-assisted interpretation), ultrasound, an IM3 dental machine, and an in-house laboratory, to name just a few. You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team consisting of 1.5 vets, 2 RVNs, and 1 receptionist.

Here's What the Team Have to Say

'Having worked at this practice for more than three years, I can honestly say it has been a fantastic place to develop my career as a vet. The team is welcoming, knowledgeable, and always focused on delivering the best possible care to our patients and clients. I have learned a great deal during my time here and continue to enjoy working in such a positive and supportive environment.' - Silvia, vet.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
