Job Opportunity: Veterinary Surgeon (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, DOE

We are seeking a full-time or part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Isle Vets, based in Ely, Cambridgeshire.


About the Role

Our Veterinary Surgeons enjoy a structured and supportive working environment with:

  • Hands-on consulting throughout the day
  • At least 1 fully dedicated operating day per week
  • Dedicated time for client communication, reporting, and case discussions

Working Pattern

  • 4-day week (approx. 41 hours)
  • Minimum of 3 vets per day (typically 4), providing strong team support
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consulting only)
  • Two vets on duty at all times
  • No out-of-hours work included

About Us

Isle Vets is a busy first-opinion practice specialising in small animal care. Located in the rural area of Ely, Cambridgeshire, our purpose-built clinic includes:

  • X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscope
  • Dental X-ray

Our experienced team fosters a positive and collaborative working environment, with a strong culture of case discussion and clinical development.

Our Team

  • 8 Veterinary Surgeons, all general practitioners with individual areas of special interest
  • Supported by a visiting orthopaedic specialist (weekly attendance)
  • 8 Veterinary Nurses with expertise in:
    • Wound care
    • ISFM certificate (feline)
    • Emergency and Critical Care
  • Active support for local animal welfare charities, particularly Cats Protection.

  • Holds a Veterinary degree and is RCVS-registered (or eligible)
  • Has clinical experience in routine medical and surgical cases
