- Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role
Kingfisher Vets, part of ivc, has been serving the local community for over 100 years. We’re now seeking a confident, motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming, supportive team across four practices in the region. This role offers:
- Varied caseload with opportunities to work across multiple sites.
- Occasional travel between branches (requiring a full driving licence).
- Full clinical freedom to develop your own interests.
- Supportive learning environment, including mentoring and CPD funding.

Our purpose-built main hospital in Crewkerne features advanced facilities:
- Video endoscopy
- Digital dental radiography
- ECG and multiparameter monitoring
- Tonometry
- Fully equipped in-house laboratory
- Support from a visiting orthopaedic specialist
Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll:
- Deliver high-standard patient and client care across a diverse caseload.
- Manage routine first-opinion cases, emergency, and critical care.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, sharing expertise and contributing to clinical culture.
- Support and mentor fellow team members in developing their skills.
- Occasionally work sole-charge on Saturdays (8:30 AM – 1 PM, 1:3 Saturday rota).
Hours:
- Full-time (40 hrs/week, 4 days) — no out-of-hours work.
- Part-time (30+ hrs/week) applications welcome.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register).
- Confidence in routine medical and surgical cases with growing experience.
- Strong communication skills to build trust with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive approach to learning and openness to development.
- Ability to work alone and collaboratively, with reliability and professionalism.
