Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a varied caseload and diary each day? If so, we’d love to welcome you to join us at Companion Care Winchester.
About Us
We’re a locally owned practice with a close-knit team with many years of experience between us!
Led by vet and practice owner Finn, who has a special interest in surgery, with a lot of cases being seen in practice, you’ll also be joining 2 more experienced vets including a certificate holder in medicine and supported by a large nursing team of 7 RVNs and 1 student nurse. Our clinical team are supported by a friendly and professional non-clinical team headed up by Sam, our practice manager and on-site Mental Health First Aider.
The practice itself is designed for more rewarding work. It’s equipped to a very high standard and includes 3 consult rooms as well as large prep area, isolation ward and a dedicated colleague room and kitchen and separate office space
The Role
Our days are varied and interesting, with a steady caseload that includes routine consults which are given 15 minutes as standard and longer where needed, routine surgery, and on the day/emergency appointments also factored into your diary. Our skilled nursing team are always prepared for whatever comes through the door, while our reception team also go above and beyond to support clients, with patient welfare being everyone’s priority.

We’re looking for an experienced vet who:
- Is confident in a first-opinion setting
- Is comfortable with occasional sole charge
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team
- Shares our passion for excellent patient and client care
The role is full time (between 30-40 hrs per week), including 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am-5pm and with no out-of-hours. We’re also happy to offer some flexibility helping to accommodate other commitments where possible.
