About the Role
At Weymouth Vets for Pets, we’ve been busy investing in both our space and our people. Over the past couple of years, we’ve extended the practice to include:
- A dedicated dental suite
- Upgraded imaging room
- Larger waiting area
- Extra consult rooms
- Kennels
- A dedicated colleague space to take a breather
We’ve also added some great kit, including:
- A Vetus 50 ultrasound with colour Doppler and ECG
- A K-Laser
- Laparoscopic equipment (coming soon)
As a result, we’re looking for an experienced vet to join us, ideally with an interest in laparoscopy. If you’ve already got experience, brilliant - but if it’s something you’d like to grow into, we’re very happy to support that with the right equipment, case load, and CPD.
About Us
As an RCVS accredited Nurse Training Practice, we genuinely care about doing a great job - for our patients, our clients, and each other. We keep things open and collaborative, with regular team catch-ups (clinical and non-clinical) so everyone has a voice and we keep improving together.
Our vet team brings over 40 years of combined experience, including an Advanced Practitioner in Medicine. We’re backed up by a brilliant, long-standing nursing and reception team, and a fantastic practice manager who’s been with us since day one over 11 years ago. Stability and support really matter to us here.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

They've built a great team, and a very supportive environment to develop whatever area you may be interested in. The location is fantastic, and you're really able to develop a great work-life balance while working here!”

"Ever since starting as a new graduate at Weymouth Vets for Pets, I have felt completely supported both by the management and nursing teams. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working here and have swiftly developed into a competent vet due to amazing teaching from senior colleagues. Regular vet team meetings allow lots of sharing of new ideas which are always listened to and taken on board. Whether new graduate or experienced vet, this practice is fantastic and I am truly sad to leave!"
Georgina, 2022 graduate
“Weymouth Vets for Pets took me on as a new grad from abroad and provided me with an amazing framework to grow, learn and develop as a human and clinician. The strong leadership qualities and backup of the practice owners and the whole management team together with the amazing support of the nursing team really helped me develop my clinical and personal skills. No matter if you're experienced or still learning, the clinic will offer a professional and fun workplace where safe culture is lived, where every team member is valued, where your personal talents are nurtured and where support is given where it's needed.”
