Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon - Surgical
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum (D.O.E.) Up to £5,000 Welcome Bonus (direct applicants) or Relocation package available
Location: Blacks Veterinary Practice, West-Midlands
Job Type: Permanent, full-time and part-time applicants welcomed
Hours: 40 hours per week, with a 1:10 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and 1:5 Saturdays with time back in Lieu
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, surgery-focused Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Blacks Vets.
Are you fully confident and proficient in performing both complex soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures? Do you hold a certificate/currently pursuing one?

- We are a small animal, first opinion hospital offering 24-hour care with a strong vet team of 19, including 7 Certificate holders in cardiology, dermatology, medicine, ophthalmology, and surgery (both soft tissue and orthopaedic), plus fellow Vets currently studying further certificates.

The Team
Here at Blacks Vets, we have a proven track record of producing talent in a variety of disciplines from graduates to certificate holders, to branch management, leadership, and director roles. As a progressive, growing and highly successful practice, we are always on the lookout for outstanding team members to join our award-winning friendly team, at our accredited Veterinary Hospital in Dudley and our surrounding local branches (on the edge of the West Midlands, but all within 30 mins of Birmingham City Centre).
Not only do we have great clinical facilities, we also have a spacious break room - including posh coffees!
We have a dedicated night team on site that covers all OOH work. Our last appointment is at 6.30pm during weekdays, and weekend work is shared fairly amongst the team on a rota basis - with time back in lieu the following week.
What We Are Looking For
- You must be fully confident and competent in performing all routine and advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures independently
- RCVS registered with extensive veterinary experience, showing a strong desire to champion surgical excellence and mentor team members in surgical workflows
- Enjoys being part of a team, values high standards of clinical and surgical care, and excels at communicating complex treatment plans to clients
