Veterinary Technical Manager – Nestlé Purina (Hybrid Role)

Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterinary Technical Manager to join our team at Purina. In this role, you will act as the go-to Purina technical expert, delivering nutritional technical support to specialist teams, including:
- Veterinary Nutrition Partner (VNP) team
- Breeder team
- CES customer support team
- Wider Purina business (as required)
Your focus will be primarily on Pro Plan® (including Veterinary Diets and life stage products), but you may occasionally support other Purina portfolio products.
Key Reporting Line: Reports to the Veterinary Scientific Affairs Manager.

Core Responsibilities
- Drive endorsement, recommendation and usage of Purina products within the UK & Irish veterinary community through technical support for:
- Internal teams (sales, marketing, customer support)
- External vet professionals in practice
- Ensure vet trust and superiority of Purina nutrition expertise
- Monitor and assess Purina Technical Helpline (including veterinary support with Veterinary Nurse Manager), responding to queries (both practice nutritional questions and VNP support).
- Train and guide other functions on sensitive issues.
- Visit vets to assist with product demonstrations, technical discussions, training (may involve travel/evenings).
- Create technical articles, resources, press copy to advocate Purina in the vet community (e.g., vet press contributions, newsletters).
- Attend/exhibit at vet shows, congresses, and symposia to showcase expertise.
- Schedule technical support for Purina charity partners (Street Vet, Cats Protection, Canine Partners) and commercial partners/customers.
- Assist the Scientific Affairs Manager with projects, including KOL/vet school support and training initiatives (e.g., Young Vets programme).
Requirements to Succeed
To thrive in this role, you must be:
- A ** Registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS )** with a clear passion for nutrition.
- Motivated to build strong team relationships and collaborate for continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint/Excel), comfortable using relevant software.

Technical & Skill Expectations
- Current understanding of clinical veterinary challenges and case management.
- Completed mandatory RCVS Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience in delivering training/lecturing or comparable public-facing technical discussions.
- Strong ability to learn, adapt, and create thorough/accurate technical resources.
- Knowledge of pet nutrition, and enthusiasm for knowledge-sharing.
- Skills in coaching and developing professionals around nutrition/clinical topics.
