VP Business Analysis Lead – Front Office & Risk

Location: London - Hybrid | Minimum 3 days per week on-site (non-negotiable)
Employment Type: Permanent

A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Vice President to lead its Front Office & Risk Business Analysis function. This role offers the opportunity to manage a team of Business Analysts while remaining actively involved in the delivery of complex change initiatives across Trading, Risk and Technology.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders, driving strategic transformation programmes, improving business processes and ensuring successful delivery across a diverse portfolio of Front Office and Risk projects.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Business Analysts across Front Office and Risk change initiatives.
  • Manage workforce planning, resource allocation and recruitment activities within the BA function.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and support to team members to ensure successful project delivery and career development.
  • Monitor team performance, delivery metrics and overall capability growth.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Change, Operations and Technology.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business analysis engagement across the Risk portfolio.
  • Challenge requirements and proposed solutions where appropriate to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide clear updates and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

Change Delivery

  • Lead business analysis activities across strategic business and technology transformation programmes.
  • Drive requirements gathering workshops and facilitate discussions with business and technical teams.
  • Produce high-quality business requirements, functional specifications and process documentation.
  • Support solution design, implementation and adoption across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.

Risk & Front Office Expertise

  • Provide subject matter expertise across Front Office trading products and Risk processes.
  • Support initiatives impacting market risk, credit risk, exposure management, collateral management and regulatory reporting.
  • Analyse complex business problems and identify practical technology-driven solutions.
  • Work closely with trading desks, risk teams and technology partners to improve processes and controls.

Testing & Implementation

  • Define testing strategies and support creation of test plans and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate system, integration and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are in place.
  • Support successful implementation and transition into production environments.

Required Experience

  • Significant Business Analysis experience within Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
  • Previous experience leading or managing Business Analysis teams.
  • Strong track record delivering large-scale business and technology change programmes.
  • Deep understanding of Front Office and Risk operations within a banking environment.
  • Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and software development lifecycles.

Product Knowledge

  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of several of the following asset classes:
    • Fixed Income
    • Bonds

    • Credit Products
    • Derivatives
    • Securities Financing
    • Loans and Deposits
