Position Overview The Vice President, Corporate Development is a senior executive position reporting to the COO and working closely with the SVP, Corporate Development, responsible for supporting the company’s diversification through buy-side acquisitions, managing all facets of due diligence, integration planning, and operational optimization. This role combines strategic vision, M&A execution leadership, and FP&A expertise to ensure that capital deployment, acquisition integration, and performance management initiatives generate measurable enterprise value. The VP, Corporate Development partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, Legal, HR, and global business unit leaders to accelerate sustainable, scalable growth. Core Responsibilities Corporate Development & Buy-Side Acquisitions Support end-to-end buy-side M&A execution: target evaluation, valuation, due diligence, and deal processing Develop financial models Structure transactions to optimize capital efficiency, tax positioning, and risk mitigation Negotiate purchase agreements, working capital adjustments, etc Present investment cases and financial impact analyses to executive leadership 2. Financial & Accounting Leadership (M&A Focus) Oversee accounting and financial due diligence across international targets Lead Quality of Earnings (QoE) assessments and working capital analyses Ensure proper valuation of intangible assets, goodwill recognition, and impairment testing Oversee financial consolidation and harmonization of accounting policies post-acquisition Partner with auditors and advisors to ensure compliant financial reporting 3. Post-Merger Integration & Business Optimization Support financial and operational integration of acquired entities Implement KPI frameworks and financial dashboards to track synergy realization Drive margin improvement and cost optimization initiatives across business units Standardize internal controls, reporting structures, and ERP integration Identify automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance scalability Monitor acquisition performance against assumptions 4. Capital Allocation & Performance Governance Evaluate return on invested capital (ROIC) and long-term value creation metrics Establish disciplined capital deployment frameworks Support financing, refinancing, or restructuring initiatives as needed Strengthen enterprise-wide financial controls and risk management practices Required Qualifications CPA required; MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate development, M&A, transaction advisory, or private equity-backed environments Deep expertise in buy-side acquisitions including post-acquisition integration Strong technical accounting knowledge Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills Experience leading cross-border transactions and global integrations Executive-level communication and board presentation experience Preferred Experience Background in Big Four accounting, transaction advisory, or investment banking Experience within technology-enabled global professional services organizations ERP and financial systems integration leadership Core Competencies Strategic Vision & Execution Technical Accounting Mastery Transaction Structuring & Negotiation Financial Modeling & Valuation Operational Excellence Change & Integration Leadership Risk Assessment & Governance Impact of the Role This executive will directly influence TransPerfect’s long-term enterprise value by combining growth strategy, disciplined acquisitions, accounting rigor, and operational optimization. The VP, Corporate Development ensures that each strategic initiative and acquisition is financially sound, operationally integrated, and accretive to profitability—positioning the company for sustained global expansion.
