The Team You’ll Work With
HSBC Innovation Banking’s Strategic Fund Solutions (“SFS”) team is responsible for managing key aspects of the bank’s relationships with its Private Equity, Private Credit and Venture Capital clients. SFS optimises the client experience through dedicated relationship management and delivering the breadth of the bank’s products to this sector, including banking, lending, treasury, and foreign exchange.
The SFS team is seeking a specialist fund finance banker with strong relationship management, banking and lending experience to join a growing team in London.
What You Can Expect To Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Coverage, the VP’s responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage relationships with a portfolio of sophisticated Private Equity, Private Credit and Venture Capital clients
- Act as the client’s primary point of contact for all their banking and lending needs
- Support the Debt Finance team with the structuring of fund finance solutions, and managing the transaction process including capital call facilities, NAV lines and Co-Invest/GP financing solutions
- Anticipate client needs and manage client concerns with internal operations and product groups as appropriate
- Support the Head of Coverage to develop and execute against a business plan to improve client experience and drive business growth
- Contribute to the acquisition of new clients and strategic account planning initiatives
- Think creatively and leverage the HSBC platform to develop solutions to client needs and that go beyond basic banking and lending products
- Monitor market trends and contribute to product innovation and platform growth
- Develop and maintain an external industry network, and act as an ambassador for SFS through attendance at relevant events & conferences
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to drive collaboration across relevant business functions and other front-line teams
- Identify and drive process improvements to optimise the client experience
- Drive client advocacy and deliver NPS growth
- Contribute to the development of junior colleagues within the Coverage and wider SFS team

Requirements
- Strong prior and relevant experience leading client relationships and delivering banking and fund finance lending solutions.
- You must have an excellent understanding of the fund structures and the fund and management company level needs of private capital firms and the broader private capital industry.
- Experience in NAV finance, GP finance, or other structured lending (e.g. Leveraged Finance) preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional client experience.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn new skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial and non-financial risks.

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 3 days per week.
