What you'll do: As Vice President Credit Manager for Securitisation at MUFG’s SFCO EMEA office in London, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for supporting senior team members in reviewing complex securitisation credit applications. Your day-to-day activities will involve making well-considered recommendations on transaction-specific files while actively monitoring portfolios against internal policies and regulatory guidelines. You will be instrumental in developing robust credit risk frameworks that align with shareholder expectations as well as client needs. By engaging deeply with various asset classes—including auto & consumer credit, RMBS, trade receivables—and expanding your knowledge across different jurisdictions and financial structures, you will help drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of CIB Credit for EMEA. Your role also includes representing the division at regional forums, collaborating globally to ensure consistent credit approval standards across MUFG’s international offices. Success in this position requires you to maintain high standards of communication—both written and verbal—while demonstrating strong oversight capabilities. You will be expected to adapt flexibly to changing responsibilities as directed by management while upholding compliance obligations. Your ability to identify potential conflicts between entities and escalate them appropriately ensures that both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc are supported effectively. Assist senior members of the Securitisation Credit Team by reviewing credit applications received and making thoughtful recommendations to senior management on transaction-specific files while continuously monitoring the portfolio in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. Ensure all written and verbal work meets high standards of quality and clarity when communicating complex credit matters to both senior management and junior staff. Support strategic initiatives within CIB Credit for EMEA by contributing to the ongoing development of credit risk frameworks, risk appetite portfolio monitoring, and early warning systems aligned with shareholder, client, and regulatory expectations. Develop deep knowledge of various industries, sectors, countries, players, financial structures, and legal frameworks relevant to securitisation transactions; demonstrate commitment to further learning through active engagement with new asset classes and jurisdictions. Model MUFG’s Risk Culture Pillars by taking accountability for identifying and mitigating risks; proactively manage risk within the department; foster positive change by challenging existing practices; and build collaborative partnerships across 1LOD and 2LOD functions. Represent the credit division at internal forums within the region by articulating key insights on credit quality trends, portfolio performance, and regulatory developments. Work closely with colleagues in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, and London offices to ensure global consistency in credit approvals for structured finance transactions. Identify potential conflicts between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc requirements; escalate issues as needed while maintaining entity-neutral support in line with regulatory obligations. Maintain oversight responsibilities by ensuring delegated tasks are exercised correctly; supervise direct reports as required by functional mandates. Adapt to evolving duties as requested by line managers or department heads while complying with controls and compliance obligations outlined in job descriptions. What you bring: Your proven experience as Vice President Credit Manager for Securitisation will be evident through your deep understanding of structured finance transactions gained from roles within financial institutions or corporate banking settings. You bring comprehensive knowledge across multiple asset classes—including auto & consumer credit, RMBS, trade receivables—and have demonstrated success in assessing credit risk within these domains. Your academic background supports your analytical skills: holding at least a Bachelor’s degree (with preference given to candidates possessing a Master’s). You possess strong interpersonal abilities that allow you to connect meaningfully with colleagues at all levels—senior management as well as junior staff—ensuring effective communication throughout complex projects. Your willingness to embrace new learning opportunities reflects your commitment to staying current with evolving regulatory frameworks and industry best practices. Attention to detail is second nature for you; you consistently deliver accurate numerical analyses using advanced Microsoft Office tools. In pressured situations you remain calm yet responsive—prioritising tasks efficiently without compromising quality. Comprehensive understanding of asset classes such as auto & consumer credit, residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), trade receivables, working capital (receivables/asset backed) transactions, or other structured products. Proven track record in credit assessment and risk management skills applicable to structured finance transactions; familiarity with market dynamics and legal aspects of securitisation. Ability to communicate effectively with both senior management and junior staff members using clear written reports and articulate verbal presentations. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred for advanced analytical capability. Experience gained from investment banking (credit or front office), rating agencies, legal or accounting backgrounds considered advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across teams; capacity to build trust-based relationships within diverse environments. Willingness to learn new asset classes, jurisdictional frameworks, regulatory initiatives; commitment to ongoing professional development through training opportunities offered by MUFG. Excellent attention to detail combined with accuracy in numerical analysis; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite essential for reporting purposes.
