Vice President, Head of Game Development (Denmark, Full-time)

This critical role must be based in Denmark on a full-time basis.

We are on the lookout for a Vice President, Head of Game Development to:

  • Shape and lead the LEGO Group's global game development strategy and execution.
  • Serve as a core member of the LEGO Group's GAME leadership team.
  • Oversee all game-related projects—both internal teams and external partnerships—with a focus on innovative, high-quality gaming experiences aligned with the LEGO Group’s values and brand identity.

The ideal candidate will excel in strategy execution, team leadership, product vision, and execution, ensuring delivery of high-quality gaming experiences that resonate with audiences while upholding LEGO Group’s core values of creativity, imagination, and quality. This position will report directly to the SVP of GAME and serve as a core leadership member.


Core Responsibilities

Roadmap Execution

  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, as the product champion for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with extraordinarily talented development teams to realise a combined creative vision, supporting their efforts to deliver high-quality products.
  • Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and facilitate solutions while maintaining focus on exceptional gaming experiences.

Product Vision

  • Ensure each product has a clear investment thesis and meets or exceeds success criteria and publisher goals.
  • Shape, influence, and advance product vision for all games and technologies, aligning with market demands and enhancing player engagement.
  • Partner with business development and creative teams to prioritise the right decisions and stay aligned with overarching strategy.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to create and implement effective strategies for new game titles and related products, fostering creativity and innovation.
  • Ensure game initiatives align with the LEGO Group’s GAME vision and strategic goals, cultivating a culture of learning and growth.

Team Leadership

  • Clearly communicate project objectives, set priorities, and offer guidance to ensure teams are aligned and focused in a playful, caring, and supportive environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key point of contact for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, fostering effective communication and cohesive development processes.

Prospecting New Studio Partners

  • Actively prospect and evaluate new development studios to diversify and strengthen the gaming portfolio.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role within the gaming industry, with a proven track record in game development.
  • Expert-level understanding of the game development process, ideally from hands-on experience leading development teams.
  • Combination of expert technical knowledge and visionary strategic insight, keeping pace with evolving market trends, behaviour, and technologies.
  • An inspiring, empathetic leader who builds high-performing, cross-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and fun.
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to bridge creative, technical, and business disciplines.
  • Values-driven leadership aligned with the LEGO Group’s mission to provide high-quality, imaginative, and meaningful play experiences for children and families.
  • Strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, able to inspire diverse teams toward common goals while promoting creativity and fun.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and maintain a caring team environment.
