VP Sales – Defence

£120,000–£150,000 + Exceptional Uncapped Commission

Our client is an ambitious, well-funded UK defence technology business entering a pivotal stage of growth. With significant qualified opportunities already in place, they are looking for an experienced commercial leader to convert strategic defence programmes into long-term revenue. This is not a traditional business development role.

You won't be expected to spend your time cold calling or building pipeline from scratch. Instead, you'll inherit major opportunities and lead them through capture, commercial negotiation and contract award.

Working directly with the founders, you'll play a key role in shaping the commercial future of the business while pursuing high-value government and international defence programmes.

The Role

  • Lead the commercial strategy and execution of complex defence sales opportunities.
  • Take qualified programmes from capture through to contract award.
  • Negotiate high-value commercial agreements with government and defence customers.
  • Navigate complex procurement environments and long sales cycles.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior military, government and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent the business across UK and international defence markets.
  • Help shape the future commercial function as the business continues to scale.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
