About the Role
This individual will join BNY Pershing Technology Applications Support Group, acting as a crucial bridge between technical teams, business units, client support, and third-party providers. Embedded in a dynamic environment, you’ll support a diverse range of BNY Pershing-developed and third-party applications while troubleshooting issues spanning software, business processes, user activity, and recent software releases.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Providing 24-hour application monitoring and support (08:00–18:00 UK-based + 02:00–08:00 India-based, M-F).
- Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving support requests—either independently or by routing complex issues to specialist teams.
- Ensuring relentless availability of key production systems through SRE, automation, and incident recovery.
- Collaborating across multi-continental, multi-cultural teams under tight deadlines.
Key Impact Areas
You’d make a lasting difference by:
- Supporting stakeholders – Internal teams (technical/non-technical), Client Support, and external third-party partners, as well as end-users.
- Resolving critical incidents – Recovering high-priority outages with urgency and minimal support bandwidth.
- Empowering resilience – Applying automation, scripting, and observability tools to improve operational robustness.
- Driving continuous improvement – Analysing incidents, refining runbooks, and advocating for better tools and practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
