Title: Security Solution Architect Department: Infrastructure Architecture Corporate Level: Vice President Reports To: Director Location: London


Job Purpose and Responsibilities

The CLS Architecture practice establishes and maintains the architectural framework supporting the technology strategy to ensure secure, reliable, and resilient IT solutions. Core responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining an enterprise strategy and architecture framework for CLS IT Systems, including technical governance and compliance for IT system designs.

  • Functioning as a Security Solution Architect for internal and external IT projects, with key responsibilities:

    • Technical Design Leadership:

      • Produce high-quality High Level Design (HLD) documentation for technical systems solutions, defining overall design direction and resolving complex technical issues.
    • Product Management Focus:

      • Analyze existing design documents
      • Evaluate market alternatives
      • Prepare presentations for the Design Authority team with recommendations and rationale
      • Author comprehensive HLDs, with emphasis on Security Tooling.
      • Assess product development and enhancements for CLS’s security tooling portfolio.
    • Security Architecture and Threat Studies:

      • Map network and data flows for internal and external integrations, including associated security controls.
      • Perform comprehensive threat modeling and risk assessments
      • Adhere to secure-by-design and resilient-by-design architecture practices.

  • Technical Guidance:

    • Provide design-based technical direction to IT security engineering, delivery, and testing teams throughout implementation.
  • Roadmapping and Standardization:

    • Support Security Enterprise Architects in defining security capability road maps to evolve portfolios from current to future state.
    • Act as a liaison between Architecture, Security Engineering, and broader IT teams, influencing:
      • Technical standards and security policies
      • Architecture quality and best practices

Technical Expertise

  • Deep experience in Security Tooling High Level Design with specialized knowledge of:

    • Cryptography
    • Malware detection
    • Cyber Threat Intelligence
    • SIEM (Security Information and Event Management)
    • Privilege & Identity Access Management
    • User Behavior & Insider Threat Analysis
    • Data Security
    • Application Security
    • Network Security
  • High-level expertise in security and infrastructure domains, including:

    • Networks (LAN/WAN/MAN, Routing, Chassis-based Wi-Fi Policies)
    • Firewalls and rule management
    • Wireless security (Client Office, Hotspot, Home Network)
    • Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
    • WAN Optimization
    • Proxy and VPN services
    • Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
    • Cloud security (IaC, Config mgmt, Compliance tools, etc.)
    • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes security)
    • Automation (Students, control mgt, Centralized server/patching)
    • Data Center & Colocation
    • Collaboration tools
  • Proven ability to design, document, and integrate complex solutions across vendors and technologies.

Certifications & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
    • Business/Finance
    • Computer Science
    • A related quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • Cloud Security (e.g. AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect)
    • AI Security (e.g. Certified Artificial Intelligence Security Professional)
    • Networking or infrastructure certifications.
