Vice President Strategic Partnerships

VP Strategic Partnerships – EMEA (Global Payments & Fintech Unicorn)

Location: Ireland (or remote) Reports To: Chief Business Officer (or equivalent) Subsidiary: TransferMate (CluneTech Group)


About the Role

TransferMate was founded in 2010 to pioneer global payments regulation, operating as a licenced payment provider across 200+ countries and territories. With reputable partnerships across banks, fintechs, and software providers, the business achieved Unicorn status in 2022 by combining regulated networks with proprietary technology and partnerships.

With cross-border payments and embedded finance at its core, this role will champion challenging, high-growth strategic partnerships protecting revenue**, fueling international adoption, and tying new FS/fintech innovations into our result-driven ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Growth & Partnership Strategy

  • Delivery:
    • Own and accelerate EMEA partner-driven revenue growth, aligned to overall company strategic predecessors. Use commercial foresight to replenish pipeline.
    • Design and execute a winning regional strategy by identifying key segments (banks, fintechs, platforms, SaaS providantly).
    • Structure and close complex, high-value deals with multi-million impact.

2. Strategic Partner Development

  • Lead portfolio: Guide a high-value partner stack, acting as executive champion where required.
  • Map opportunities:
    • Unlock cross-sell and upsell potential in existing partnerships (e.g., expansion into new product areas or embedded use-cases).
    • Co-develop joint GTM strategies to accelerate partner-led penetration.
  • Acceleration mechanics: Utilise consultative sales processes and value-proposition to ensure partnership quick wins.

3. New Business Origination

  • Hunting ripe opportunities: Prospective research and engage new high-potential finance/payments sector investments (SMEs, CMSPs, BNPLs).
  • Sales execution:
    • Lead customer/stakeholder engagement (C-suite/FX/banking).
    • Deliver tailored presentations—balancing technical clarity with commercial hooks.
    • Position TransferMate’s API-driven solutions as key differentiators (topic: embedded payments, FX mechanisms).

4. Market & Product Influence

  • Advocate within TransferMate:
    • Steer internal squads (Product, Technology, Compliance) with clear sponsor-structured feedback to ensure real-time product iteration.
    • Focus on APIs and embedded finance integration, sparring with ops to keep our ecosystem forward-thinking.
    • Scan for market shifts positioning our builds correctly to stay competitive.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Steerboards:
    • Collaborate seamlessly with Sales, Product, Compliance & Ops during onboarding and partnership scaling.
    • Advise wider commercial strategies with domain expertise.
    • Delegate and embed a collaborative partnership sales team.

6. Partner Performance Management

  • Drive achievement: Steward partners against revenue/traffic metrics. Observe and remediate issues promptly.
  • Educate & expand: Ensure partners leverage current and long-future roadmap solutions, reducing drop-off.

Required Skills, Experience & Capabilities

Commercial & Strategic Capability

  • Proven track record of originating and executing growth deals to MM+ revenue impact.
  • Win-win partnership modelling: Think creatively in financial structures.
  • Flexible between strategic roadmaps and operational execution.

Domain Expertise

Effective in cross-border payments, FX markets, working capital solutions, or related embedded finance.

  • Offthe/nginxqual':
    • API-first/SaaS-based models within fintech or banking.
    • Experience influencing banks or working with fraudulent innovation ecosystems.
