Video Annotation Expert
Type: Contractor, Remote Compensation: $65–$80/hour Location: United States, Canada, United Kingdom Commitment: 10–40 hrs/week
About the Role
This position requires a detail-oriented professional to identify, segment, and annotate events in short video clips for AI/ML training datasets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal proficiency, experience in video-related tasks, and the ability to maintain consistency in annotations per project guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Identify and segment recurring events in video clips according to project guidelines
- Provide precise annotations with accurate start and end timestamps for each detected event
- Write concise, clear, and consistent written descriptions for every annotated event
- Ensure all submissions meet strict quality and consistency standards
- Collaborate via written and verbal communication channels to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities
- Review and refine annotations to align with evolving project instructions

Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in English (written and verbal) for annotation and communication
- Demonstrated experience in video annotation, content moderation, writing, video editing, or videography
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-accuracy data labeling
- Ability to follow complex annotation guidelines and adapt quickly to feedback
- Background in AI training projects or experience with data annotation for machine learning (a plus)
