About the Role
Daz In The Hat Radio CIC is seeking an experienced Video Creator to enhance our online presence and amplify the reach of our grassroots, unsigned artists through engaging YouTube and TikTok content. As a key member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your creative expertise, technical skills, and passion for independent music to help us achieve our mission—supporting emerging artists and growing our global community.

Informing Strategy and Sustainability

Who We’re Looking For
For this role, we seek a resourceful and adaptable volunteer with a track record in video creation and social media. An understanding of our roots-based, tireless narrative is vital—especially for promoting grassroots bands and musicians performing without traditional media attention.
Essential Criteria:
- Three years’+ expertise in one of these areas:
- Video creation
- Video editing (both short/long-form)
- Social media content production
Skills and Quality:
- Creativity: The ability to captivate viewers with cutting-edge content that aligns with our ethos—grassroots, diverse, and inclusive.
- Technical Flair:
- Proven proficiency with video editing software.
- Experience in producing content for TikTok and YouTube.
- Collaborative Mindset:
- Aged at being both a force behind projects and an enabler of others’ creativity.
- Effective communicator, comfortable liaising with radio volunteers, artists, and audiences (a second pair of ears when needed).
- Platform Savvy:
- Sharp insights into social algorithms, trends, and engagement strategies.
- Patience for Attention to Detail:
- Ensure captions are legible, brand guidelines are maintained impeccably, and transitions are seamless.
- Passion for Grassroots Music:
- Understanding of how community-driven hobbyists uplift and sustain each other.
Your Objectives
As our Video Creator, you’ll be central to turning audio into viewer engagement, ultimately growing the station’s influence beyond London and into global audiences. Here’s how it’ll look on a day-to-day basis:

- Editorial Tasks:
- Turn raw audio from radio shows, interviews, and artist sessions into beautiful visual multimedia videos suited for the tone of both YouTube and TikTok.
- Experiment with style and storytelling techniques—whether slapdash montage for abstract connections or smooth cuts for breakout performances.
- Planning & Execution:
- Work with content designers to meet deadlines through strictly managed content calendars.
- Provide performance analysis tools to track audience interactions (views, comments, shares).
- Channel Growth:
- Promote across multiple platforms, build a suite of catchy thumbnails, and write compelling captions/hashtags to improve SEO.
- Collaborative Support:
- Liaise with artists, volunteers, and members to ensure all content aligns perfectly with Daz In The Hat Radio’s personality and story.
- Remaining Trend-Aware:
- Meet the challenges and opportunities of emerging digital trends to ensure our content stays breathlessly well ahead of the game.
