Video Editor (Freelancer), Fireship

Video Editor (Freelancer) – Fireship (via Electrify)

Fireship is an exciting, high-energy YouTube channel specialising in high-intensity code tutorials and tech news, aimed at helping developers level up their programming skills. With 4 million+ subscribers, we craft dynamic, bite-sized, and engaging content that simplifies complex topics—whether it's through The Code Report, tutorial series, or Fireship Pro courses.

We’re looking for a talented freelance Video Editor to elevate our content and help us deliver the highest production value to our growing audience.

About the Role

Fireship is one of the biggest software engineering and tech channels on YouTube, known for its fast-paced, high-energy tutorials that break down programming, software development, and technology trends into digestible, entertaining bite-sized lessons.

As part of our remote content production team, we need story-driven video editors with an understanding of tech and coding content to keep our channel engaging, visually polished, and consistent with our brand.

Top candidates will: ✔ Have experience crafting tutorial-based or coding-oriented videos ✔ Be deeply familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (with a focus on After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator) ✔ Be proficient in keyframe animation for "faceless" video content ✔ Bring creativity to blending archive assets with dynamic storytelling

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit和生產 Fireship’s YouTube content to increase quality and variety, driving audience engagement and growth.
  • Proactively source, select, and integrate media assets (B-roll, screenshots, illustrations) to bring scripts to life while keeping pacing sharp.
  • Work closely with scriptwriters and creators to align on visual storytelling while delivering high-standard edits efficiently.
  • Maintain organised project files and assets for smooth collaboration with a distributed team.
  • Stay ahead of trends in internet culture and tech developments to anticipate what resonates with developers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
