About the Role
Join Fireship, one of the largest software engineering and tech channels on YouTube, where high-energy, fast-paced tutorials and breakdowns of programming, software development, and technology trends rule.
Our loyal audience—4 million+ subscribers—loves bite-sized, informative, and entertaining tech content that makes complex topics easy to grasp.
We’re seeking a talented freelance Video Editor to join our remote content production team. The ideal candidate will have experience in story-driven video editing and a strong passion for technology, coding, and development. Experience creating tutorial-based or coding-oriented videos is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the production and video editing of Fireship’s YouTube content, helping increase both quantity and variety to grow and engage our audience.
- Source, select, and import media elements (videos, images) to elevate scripts and voiceovers into dynamic, high-quality content.
- Collaborate closely with creators and scriptwriters to ensure storytelling alignment while maintaining editorial excellence.
- Keep organized project files and documentation to streamline workflows and enhance team collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with internet culture and tech news to maintain relevance and creativity.

Skills and Experience
Must-Have
- Proven video editing experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in digital content creation for YouTube and short-form storytelling (using archive imagery).
- Confident command of keyframe animation for ’faceless’ video content.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- After Effects
- Illustrator
- Photoshop
- Sharp attention to detail, ensuring brand consistency in fonts, colors, styles, and visuals while elevating production values.
- Experience working with programming or tech-related content—able to break down complex topics into engaging, digestible video formats.
- A passion for technology, programming, and digital content—with a drive to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of YouTube’s engagement strategies, ensuring videos maximize retention and audience growth.
Desirable
- Competence in coding and programming—experience as a software developer or building digital projects is a plus.
- Ability to flex workload in European/US time zones for cross-team collaboration.

Compensation
£250 - £350 USD per day (converted to your local currency, based on experience).
