About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Village Nurse Manager to lead the nursing and clinical provision within our new Birkdale village.
This is a salaried leadership role for a registered nurse who can combine strong clinical knowledge with calm, confident team leadership. You will support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred nursing care, while helping to build a positive clinical culture across the village.
Working closely with the General Manager, Registered Support Manager and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in clinical governance, quality assurance, colleague development and the day-to-day support of residents with nursing needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape nursing practice within a new service and ensure residents receive care that is safe, personalised and delivered with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing team within the village.
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance and oversight to colleagues.
- Ensure high standards of nursing care, clinical practice and documentation.
- Support care planning, clinical assessments, risk management and reviews.
- Oversee medication management, clinical audits and action plans.
- Support safe admissions, transitions and ongoing resident care.
- Work closely with GPs, community teams, hospitals, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote best practice in infection prevention and control, wound care, nutrition, hydration, falls prevention and end-of-life care.
- Provide supervision, coaching and support to nurses and care colleagues.
- Help identify training needs and support clinical development across the team.
- Contribute to safeguarding, incident reviews, investigations and quality improvement.
- Support the Registered Support Manager and General Manager with regulatory compliance and clinical governance.

About You
You will be a registered nurse with strong clinical experience and the confidence to lead others. You will understand the importance of safe care, good documentation, clear communication and supporting teams to make sound clinical decisions.
You may already be working as a Nurse Manager, Clinical Lead, Deputy Nurse Manager, Unit Manager, Senior Nurse or experienced Registered Nurse looking to step into a wider leadership role.
You will bring a calm, practical and person-centred approach, with the ability to support colleagues while maintaining high standards.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, full employment background checks and verification of NMC registration.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN.
- Strong clinical experience within older people’s care, nursing care, dementia care, community nursing, or a similar setting.
- Experience supporting or leading clinical practice within a care environment.
- Good understanding of clinical governance, medication management, risk assessments and care planning.
- Ability to coach, support and develop nursing and care colleagues.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence working with families, professionals and external healthcare partners.
- Commitment to safe, compassionate and person-centred care.

Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Nurse Manager, Deputy Nurse Manager, Unit Manager or Senior Nurse.
- Experience within a CQC-regulated care environment.
- Knowledge of dementia care, complex care, frailty and end-of-life care.
- Experience supporting audits, quality improvement and regulatory inspections.
- Leadership or management qualification, or willingness to develop further.
